A core multidisciplinary clinical team has been established to care for the needs of trans persons in Malta, within the Gender Wellbeing Clinic. This is composed of nominated professionals from different medical and surgical specialities such as, the paediatric and adult endocrinology, urology, gynaecology, plastic surgery, and psychiatry, together with a designated psycho-social team that includes a social worker, psychologists / counsellor, family therapist, and speech language pathologist. The Clinical Lead of the Clinic is the Consultant Endocrinologist, whilst the clinic's Charge Nurse oversees the operational management and care co-ordination of the clients; both supported by a Consultant in Public Health from the Office of the CMO in aspects of service planning, policy and implementation stages.
